YOUR ONLINE POWER

Project objective was to create a visual identity for a campaign centered on social media x mental health, specifically in youths x teens. Research consisted of gathering information on how excessive social media use affects mental health. Main challenge was coming up with an original look and feel for visuals with no reliance on imagery and textures; this was intentionally a type centric project.

Post ‘Your Online Power’ Brian is a big believer in social media breaks. While actively working on this campaign design I was periodically signing out of my social pages and could not believe how unbothered + stressed free I felt.

Social media x mental health are important social problems I care about. Mental health discussions should be addressed seriously instead of ignored due to outdated beliefs. Social media addiction can be reduced by using it responsibly and infrequently.

The act of typing was recurring as I focused on the relationship between typography and social media. I developed a keyboard centric grid. Using keyboard keys x social media UI buttons to expand graphics + generate a brand language I was able to create a well-rounded visual system.

CONCEPT 1: UI Buttons x Keyboard Keys / CONCEPT 2: Social Media Burnout / CONCEPT 3: Text Abbreviations
